Our lawmakers are again behaving badly in public over illegal immigration. This time the tussle threatens passage of health care reform legislation. The latest contentious debate, as the New York Times reports, revolves around a slew of issues. Among these is whether unauthorized migrants -- who will be subject to the mandate that all purchase health insurance -- will be allowed to use their own money to buy coverage from the public exchanges. Another is whether uninsured legal immigrants -- who must also buy their own insurance -- will be barred from insurance-premium subsidies until long waiting periods have elapsed....

The Cap seem to be moving slowly in the past few months, but something is different with the release of the new count this week.
As of September 18, 2009, approximately 46,000 H-1B (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) cap-subject petitions and approximately 20,000 petitions qualifying for the advanced degree cap exemption had been filed. It seems that some employers are hiring again and willing to file for H1B visas for specialty workers. This is a good sign, but this also means that visas may run out sooner than expected.
USCIS will continue to accept both cap-subject petitions and advanced degree petitions until a sufficient number of H-1B petitions have been received to reach the statutory limits, taking into account the fact that some of these petitions may be denied, revoked, or withdrawn.

I've written a number of times that we need to think about pursuing piecemeal immigration reform and give up on the notion of a comprehensive solution. The reason for this is simple math - you need Republican votes in the Senate to make it happen and the Republican Party has moved so far in to the Tea Party camp that it can't even muster a single pro-immigration voice. I applied for H -1 extension regular processing in the month of sept 2009 in california service centre before expiration date of my H1-B(2010 Jan 22).I got RFE on DEC 18th asking for client and contractual agreements between client and vendors and i got time til Jan 29th 2010 to reply back to RFE.As i was preparing to collect all the documents to respond to my RFE ,I also applied new H 1 from same existing employer before Jan22nd 2010 in Vermont service centre.I replied back to RFE on jan 27th 2010 with client letters and letters from 2 vendors.
I got my H 1-b extension approved from California service centre on Feb 18th 2010
My question is what if my new H1 filed in vermont service centre gets rejected.Will it cause any problems to the extension that was approved.I already got my h1-b extension approval notice from uscis on FEB 18th 2010.I have'nt heard anything about my new h1 b filed on jan 21 2010 in vermont service centre.Can i continue to work on my approved extension.
Please advice me

The Applicant should sign the forms and if he uses any Attorney or Paralegal they have to sign the G-28 form and also on the other forms submitted.

I am waiting for the approval of my I-131. Can I fax a request to approve/speedup the process? If I can send the fax, can someone pass the fax number?
Background:
I applied for I-131 online in May, 2008 at TEXAS Service center. I applied before 120 days of the expiration. In December 2008 I got an RFE asking for the reasons why I applied before 120 days of expiration of AP authorization. I sent the response on Dec 11th.

your father can apply for visitor visa, but there are no guarnatees she will be approved. Even if he is approved and comes to the USA, applying for adjustment of status would be a mistake (entering as tourist while in fact intending to immigrate) and could lead to permanent bar. If he applys and is approved, she can come to visit and return to home country thats the better option.

Through AILA inquiry, I came to know my case details:
CIS electronic records indicate that your case have moved from the
security review area to the Case Resolution Unit(CRU). Will check
with supervisors of the CRU to find out what is going on with these cases
and if they can be routed to exams to be worked".
What does it mean ? What is happening in CRU ?
Internet refers CRU handles if case has multiple "A" nos or receipt notice delays....I filed only one I-485 application five years back.....

Still an agent came from USCIS last week for site inspection. He talked to HR first, then came to my room. ASked for an photo id, then asked usual questions, job responsibilities, salary, location,
educational qualifications, salary statement...
took some fotos of my room and desk b4 he left.
Everything went on for 15 mints.
Thought, I should share this info with you.

Hello,
My firm is about to start greencard processcing for me and this is the first time that they are undergoing this process. They are searching for letter templates which decribes the employee eligibility and responsibilies in the firm and why they want to recommend greencard for this perticular employee. If anybody can upload such kind of templates/documents, that would be of greater help.

Here is my situation, my PD is March 05 and my 140 is pending for the past 3 months. Do you guys think if I get my 140 approved by Premium processing it would increase my chances of 485 approval this fiscal year? BTW, as its obvious from my PD I will be filing my 485 in July, God willing.

I am seeing people with july 2nd dates getting their checks cashed, and there maybe a quick jump after July 2nd because of the bulletin fiasco we had. And plenty of people have filed after July 17, Could someone tell me if their checks have got cashed? This could be a helpful thread for After 17th filers.

Priority date of old EB3 case: Jan 2003 (140 approved). Started new EB2 case (PD Feb 2007) without notifying uscis of old priority date. Now EB2 140/485 pending since three months. Can I get early EB2-140/485 approvals if I notify uscis of my old priority date now? I belong to "other charge-ability areas" group.

Guys, My labor was moved to Dallas Backlog center and got approved in 2006. When I searched its detail in files from flcdatacenter.com, I could not find any labor that matches my ETA number. I am not sure if there is any way to get the details. Though, online status site of Dallas backlog center shows the status but without any usable details. My labor's ETA number starts with D-xxxxx-xxxxx. Does any body has similar ETA number ?
