Folks- The forward movement is good. But, just curious. Is retrogression still a possibility? Hope Not ;-(
Also, even if the PD is not current, is there any way we can find out if something has happened to the I-485 application? Or, is not getting an RFE just a good sign?

Yes This is the notice which you should get after MTR opened.
You are back on track and adjustment status.
All the best for later 485 approval too.
Hopefully with IV efforts USCIS will stop this drama in future.

We also mailed you a notice describing the next steps in the process. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Our review should be completed within 30 days. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you.
You are back on track and adjustment status.

Its good that we have a democratic majority in congress. we also now have work cutout for us to contact new lawmakers. getting more members and members willing to work for local chapters is important at this time. we need to work with renewed vigour now and finish our task. pls help with increasing membership and join your state level chapter threads. I see only very few members have posted their interest. we need interest from each member in order to succeed. I am sure we will succeed. The good times are ahead of us but we need to take advantage of it.

If Air France was genuine they should have made everyone stay in the same place or atleast talk to theie department of immigration and arrange a temporary supervised visa and take all people to the hotel.

Can't agree with you more. Screw them and never fly with them. Then they will realize what it means. I don't see any issues with on spot transit visas in such circumstances. What if there was a terrorist attack on airport? They will still ask for transit visas for Indians to get outside airport? Best is avoid Europe at all costs and fly direct. Avoid any city in between including middle eastern cities.

My Labor was approved and I-140 pending.
My PD is Feb, 2006.
Can I apply for 485 now.
My both daughters are in India.
If I can apply now then I will have to bring my daughters immdtly to U.S.

It is a FACT that you/your class is more agrieved than any other possible class. But we need to be high on intellect and low on emotions. There is reason to wait till SEP. Besides although I am not sure but Labor and I-140s are for the Employers and Employees take over only in the I-485 stage. So we need to strategize instead of doing wishfull thinking. Its lot usefull if we be analytical in these threads rather than pouring out emotions.

I guess the cat is out of the bag. Yes, I got my greencard a few weeks ago. Yes, my PD is early 2004.
There are 2 current theories why:-
1. I'm very vocal in the media and lawmakers about the problem, and something made this happen (as my co-workers say "they gave it to you to shut you up")
2. I was a lucky one that was assigned a visa number in early June (when I applied for AOS) - it was approved when my PD was not current.
I'm not going anywhere, nothing has changed with the current policy. It is still broken. If for no other reason, the bizarre circumstances around my GC highlight more unpredictability and uncertainty in the whole process. I hadn't mentioned it before since it really isn't a big deal in the big picture.
First of all, congrats and hope you celebrated with Champagne! :):) I appreciate your dedication to this cause. I am sure others do too...
