Guys, I have thrown out my ideas and you can take what suits you from it. As someone mentioned nothing is illegal in it. If you find something, please explain what and why.
My conservative estimate was 100K people pulling 50K$ out..that would be 5 billions...if more comes out even better
Fight for legislation?? Does anyone has any hopes on it still? You would get piecemeal concessions here and there..but the Indian EB immigration community as a whole gets nothing good out of it...2 year EAD, 5 yr EAD..just to wipe the tears...come on guys think out of the box.
You argue it is not discrimination but it is law. I say the law is discriminatory and nobody wants to change it (remember the horses discussion instead of EB immigration discussion in senate), do you need any better example than this?
Anyways, I leave it to your own judgement..and I am going ahead with my plans...I am not planning to leave the country anytime soon so I am not yet into the drastic measures I mentioned, but I sure have started the funds transfer to Indian banks, pulling out of mortgage application and moving out of US equities markets. Also, I am reducing the amount of money I pump into US economy which is currently 5K per month to ~3-3.5K per month. If it makes any difference I am making ~400K a yr from my job and other investments...

Funds will follow if people see viability. Anywaz nothing is coming out of lobbying efforts so currently how does it even matter ?

I just spoke to a lady at USCIS and she told me they just started working on case receipts for July 2nd and onwards so in next couple of weeks most of you who filed in first week of july should see their receipts..this is what she told me and she sounded very authentic..

I consider FOIA is a multifold success. Not only we achieved milestone 1 of $5K, we were successful enough to wake up members to do something after long time. Why do you think the very same members were sleeping? I don't believe IV Core was not doing anything in last few months but members always felt that there is no plan of action from IV. There is nothing worst could happen to us just by disclosing our plan of actions in controlled way like:
1. <<ABC>> is preparing document for final data information.
2. <<XYZ>> is evaluating other options how we could retrieve this information.
3. <<DEF>> is understanding how FOIA works and how long it will take us to get data and what will be the best option to get it earlier.
4. <<MMM>> is working on funding drive for this.
There is no reason to hide even this kind of information. But if we do this, members understand what we are doing at high level.

Also, information like how much IV is spending on lobbying on a monthly basis ? As this information is publicly available (in fact Sanju could find it by searching for under 10 mins and can be googled),why can't it be displayed on the website ?

We have several bills that are being discussed to provide releif for all of us stuck in the Green Card process. We have very few dedicated volunteers working very hard and knocking the doors of representatives across the country seeking support for our bills. We need to lobby hard to get releif for all of us in this election year and lobbying is not cheap. We need dollars to keep up our lobbying efforts. We need help with raising dollars that are needed to keep working for our cause. We do not have Star Players and/or Star Athletes raising funds to support our cause. We need to do it ourselves. We all need to come together as a dedicated team with a mission to raise the targeted dollar amount. Can we do it?. Can we all step up and raise the dollars we need for our cause?.

Agree. I still blame name check 180 rule - a major decision by USCIS/FBI helped this backlogg to go from bad to worst.
Name check 180 rule -it allowed thousands of people from EB1 / EB2 Row to get their 485 cleared and consumed major chunk of 2008/09 EB visas. Had it been not there, many old timers, would have used visas as their Name check would have been cleared before them.
Oh yeah, I hear you; I personally know many of my ex-colleagues in a big IT sourcing company who came to US in L1A got their GC through EB1 category within a matter of 6-8 months.....last years 180 rule change does benefit most of these fortunate guys.....

.....WE HAVE TO MAKE OUR EMPLOYERS FEEL THE IMPACT OF NOT HAVING US FOREIGN WORKERS.....THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS EXPLOITATION....

..We cannot say things like exploitation or make the employers feel ...This is feed for the anti immigratin lobby..You put up stuff like this and they start painting you as their poster boy to show why the whole H1B program should be abolished......If we do conduct a strike ..it would cause no disruption at all..Frankly nobody is indispensible...Striking is equivalent of biting the had that feeds us...

From Jan 2005 till July 2007 EB3 Inida was retrogressed for his PD. So he/she could not apply 485 in Feb 2005. The other optins could be he/she may be in EB2 catagory or a Schulde A nurse.
I was in similar time frame; So I know the date well....

Just got my 140 approved...no confirmation from the employer yet but received email from CRIS saying they mailed the approval on April 15. Looks like the published processing times are being adhered to.

but why is USCIS website not showing Aug bulletin ?
The reason for this is that Mumbai is 12 hours ahead in time of US. Please wait till today evening , the same will be reflected on DOS website. We have seen before that the VB bulletin cut off dates released earlier on US consulate websites in India than on the DOS websites in US

Do any of you know and if so could you please clarify what this new memo is about and how it especially affects the EB2 category ?
Does this now mean that for a non-advanced degree holder the qualification needed for EB2 is Bachelors+10 years of ex. ? If this is true it's really messed up for all the EB3's hoping to port to EB2 based on experience.

Sad story continues. Only EB3 moved by 1 month surprisingly.

This is not really an issue that American citizens care about. The CIR bill got attention from the American citizens because it involved legalizing 12 million undocumented workers. So, do not expect citizens to talk on this issue. Well, if you tell an American citizen that there was a security lapse on part of USCIS, while approving the Green Cards, then it is a different issue and you will get his/her attention. However, think though! Are we trying for negative publicity for this issue? OR Would you rather try to see how we could use this opportunity to further optimize the process at USCIS?
See - lets not fight within ourselves. We both have the same cause but expressing differently.
Please read my other pots written to DDLMODES - my only intention was to say that if a "USCIS overhaul" has to happen that should be initiated by Senators.... For Senators to do something American peoples need to talk ( like they did for CIR)

I do not have updates�I wish I did. Like most people in these forums I am waiting for miracle to happen�.which probably will not happen.
To me it seems like that the members are doing there part, i.e. sending emails, making phone calls etc. But it looks like our numbers are not enough to make a change in the policy.
