Guys,
There's no doubt CIR is going to be brought in this year. How much of it or any of it will get passed, is the issue. Congress, as last year is determined to amalgamate us with the illegals so they can freely oppose the bill and indirectly kill both kind of immigration. I think we should put all our resources towards lobbying and make as many friends on the hill as possible.

Right now we dont know what happened but it will be months before anything comes out.
Also overall safety record of AF is now pathetic, blame it on weather or something else.
1990s: 3 Fatal accidents
2000s:
2000: AF concorde crashes in Paris on takeoff, all 109 onboard killed. Cause Tire burst due a metal plate that fell from previous plane taking off, the tire burst hit the petrol tanks under the wings and burst them.
2005: AF A340 (aircraft type with no prior incident) overruns runway in Toronto and pilot is blamed for error.
2009: AF A330 disappears mid air.
Total fatal accidents in 20 years = 6
Last fatal accident on Air India was Kanishka bombing in 1985.
Indian Airlines had most notorious record from 1980 - 1993. However, there are no fatal incidents since 1993 on Indian Airlines
and all of us hate Air India and Indian Airlines for safety record. Until recently they both flew really old planes.

Thanks. I do have my EAD. Just fearful that since I wont be at the 6 month period, I wont get to portability.
Does US immigration check up on this stuff? If so, how? I'm thinking that the Texas processing center (where my info is being processed) is too busy working on my papers (and other folks' papers) rather than inquiring about everyone's employment status. Is this wishful thinking?
It does not matter. According to the law, you can invoke AC21 after six months of I-485. Also GC is for future employment. So if the company does not withdraw I-140 petition, you can always go back to them when the GC is approved finally.
Make sure your employer does not withdraw I-140. Ask your attorney to send you the approved I-140 petition. And switch jobs after six months of I-485 and notify USCIS of the job change. You should be set. Thank AC21 for that.
Also you should prepare for the eventuality that I-140 gets an RFE. I do not know what your recourse would be then. Better to consult an immigration attorney. May be you can start second PERM, I-140 with your new employer. Good luck.

A group of us just went to Lamar Smith's Austin District Office and detailed his liason about the bills, benefits and information about IV. She said she will have them Fedex'd today to their Washington office and keep us informed about congressman's stand.

Just got off the phone. The Lady said she is getting hundreds of these calls. She also said the Rep smith had not made his position public. She asked if I was part of the same group that has been calling. I said yes but I am calling on behalf of all the legal immigrants who would like to see a better streamlined process so that thousands of tax payers in US can breath a sigh.

Make AF flight crew wait it out in some mosquito infested lounge for 10 hours before clearing their immigration. Call it something like quarantine for French swine flu or something. But do give them a bottle of water and enough spicy Indian food. :D
Repeat this at random for a few weeks. AF will be paid back in Euros :D.
BTW, I used to stay in France (and Holland 98-2000) and had a fairly good experience when I was there. Never really felt any racial discrimination. Only thing that they want you to do in France is try to speak French that's it.
I bear no ill will to the French or the other EU folks. This is a fight with the Airline and let's keep the discussion to that. :)

I speak Hindi and have 8-9 friends from south india..telegu, tamil and kannadiga........we have been hanging out for years now and we haven't faced any problems....2-3 ppl in our group don't know hindi well and they try to learn it.
I have learned a few telugu and tamil words........I find calling the attitude of hindi ppl rude is a bad omen. If you don't like hindi, why do u like british language english.
I'm surprised when ppl say they hate hindi (which many indians speak) but talk to the foreign clients in their language with a smirk on their face. Take it easy friends. Cool down.

I had been there in US for 7 yrs (3 yrs in L2->1yr out of US->4 Yrs in H1B). Saw the myths and tragedy of US GC process very closely. Didn't want to spoil peace of life and my hard earned money with USCIS and lawyers:mad:. Didn�t look at the US GC application and applied for Canadian PR. Came to Canada with PR last year from US. Peacefully settled in Toronto with nice job and benefits, bought my brand new car 4 months back. Nice and friendly people and government. Happy to be in Canada. No more stamping issues, tons of junk paper works, consulate visit PA and wired look from immigration officers at POE�. enough�. I am not going back to US even for a visit in next 5 yrs..�

Is fragomen filing EAD & AP on time?
I have been following up with them to file my EAD renewal since 10 days and today I received a response that they are busy with audit and will do as soon as they can, I don't want my ead application to be delayed, its already more than a week I was eligible to file EAD renewal.
